Students are taught about book shelf order of fiction and non-fiction and some research skills to 4th grade.  They and the upper grades are allowed to check out two items. The borrowing period is one week, with two renewals, unless they need the book for assigned reading or a research project, then more renewals are allowed. 

The overdue fine charge is .02 a school day.  Fines are not assessed on weekends or vacation days.  Notices are sent out once a week to students who have overdue materials or fines owed to the library.  

SCHOLASTIC  BOOK FAIR

There are two Book Fairs each school year, one in November and another in May. The second Book Fair is a Buy One Get One Free fair. The books, posters, kits and games come from Scholastic Book Fairs. They provide a good variety of materials for every age and grade of student.

The hours of the fair are usually 9:30 am to 3:30 PM every school day with an evening Family Sale one week night of the November sale. The sale is held in the Emmaus Room. Volunteers are needed to help with the evening sale. They are also helpful with set-up and clean-up.

The school receives 30% of the profits from the November sale in cash. We also can earn free books for the Media Center through the Teacher Wish List program, the One For the Books program and other options we use. The Buy One Get One Free sale does not earn any profit for the school. The benefit is the free books the children get.
